Frost Gamble | Interview

Frost Gamble is a Hip Hop producer from upstate New York. He prides himself on a soulful, boom bap sound that Hip Hop became loved for over the years. Frost has produced for artists including Kool G Rap, Sadat X, KXNG Crooked, Skyzoo, Guilty Simpson, Boldy James, and more. In 2016, Frost and Tone Chop released their critically-acclaimed Veteran EP on 22 Entertainment.

In this video interview with TheBeeShine, Frost talks about how his love for Hip Hop began in the early 80s when breakdancing was prominent in the culture. He was enamored with songs like “The Message” from Grandmaster Flash & The Furious 5 and later by KRS-One and the songs from Boogie Down Productions. Frost remembers his early attempts at rhyming in the local upstate NY scene and meeting emcee and now-music partner Tone Chop. The two recently released their full-length collaboration album, Respect Is Earned, Not Given with features from DNA, Tragedy Khadafi, Kool G Rap, Planet Asia, and more.

Frost sums up his feelings about his career by stating “I care about contributing to the culture.” and confessing that he just wants to “give a little back and leave a record that I was here.” Frost is currently finishing an album with Queensbridge legend Tragedy Khadafi as well as new material with Tone Chop, ZoTheJerk, and more.
