New Jersey hip hop artist and celebrity Joe Budden finds therapy in making music, and expresses his emotions and struggle on every album. From street ciphers, rap battles, and local shows, he soon commanded attention and recognition from influencers in the industry such as DJ Cutmaster C, DJ Clue, DJ Kay Slay, & Dub-B. In 2003, Budden released the first installment of what would become one of the premiere selling hip hop mixtapes series of all time, Mood Muzik: The Worst of Joe Budden. That same year, Budden signed to Def Jam Records and released major hits from his self-titled album, such as the Grammy-nominated hit “Pump It Up” that catapulted him to international fame. In 2009, Budden teamed up with Joell Ortiz, Crooked I, and Royce Da 5’9″ as the hip hop supergroup known as Slaughterhouse.
