Skanks The Rap Martyr is an emcee from Brooklyn, NY. His older brother Goldz built a studio and recorded artists such as Das EFX, DJ Clark Kent, Mos Def, and Talib Kweli. At age 11, Skanks was writing rhymes and performing. MC Lyte brought him under her management company. Before age 13, Skanks was touring and opening for MC Lyte around the U.S. under the name Problem Child. He’s released a series of albums and mixtapes such as The Flowfessional, Back From The Future, Martyr Mattic, and more. In 2013, Skanks signed a deal with Shinigamie Records in France under the direction of DJ/producer Kyo Itachi. He released The Shinigami Flowfessional along with a DVD of bonus footage and interviews. Skanks is a co-founder of the super group Bankai Fam, consisting of 11 emcees from Crown Heights, Brooklyn. In 2013, the group released On My Side EP with production from Kyo Itachi, Venom, Azaia, Raw Reezy, Phalo Pantojah, and Astronote.
