Tom Delay Beats | Interview
A self-taught sampling wizard with early influences from the likes of DJ Premier, RZA, MF Doom, Pete Rock, Hi-Tek, and Havoc, Tom Delay picked up the MPC in 2003 and developed his signature sound. Tom Delay linked up with Brake Fast Records in 2006 to provide some sharp production for the label’s first compilation release, Divisions Of Labour. In 2007, he linked up with Baltimore emcee A-Class to provide production, mixing, and cuts for A-Class’ solo album, Motive Response. In 2009, Tom Delay completed his brainchild album, Cases, with beats, mixing, vocals, cuts, and executive production from himself. By 2010, Delay had linked with Baltimore street hop legends Dirt Platoon to provide superlative production on the group’s most prominent release, Deeper Than Dirt. In 2013, Tom is release his instrumental hip hop project, Sharks In The Sky.
