Gilbere Forté | Interview

Gilbere Forté is an emcee, songwriter, and producer from Philadelphia, PA. At age 12, he began writing songs and recited lyrics from the musicians that his parents were listening to. Throughout high school and college Gilbere was producing music, which led him to an internship at Studio 609, home of award-winning producers Dre & Vidal. In 2009, Gilbere met and began producing with Rakib “Raak” Uddin, on Gilbere’s debut album, 87 Dreams. He signed a recording deal with Universal Motown in 2011 and released Eyes Of Veritas with Don Cannon, with additional production from Boi-1da, Bink, Lex Luger, and Raak. Gilbere was featured on the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher and the FUSE TV Hip Hop Shop Cypher. Also in 2011, Gilbere released the album, Some Dreams Never Sleep, with features from Big K.R.I.T., Bun B, Pusha T, and more. He later toured with French DJ and producer Bob Sinclar, and is featured on Bob’s album, Disco Crash. Gilbere signed a new deal with Epic Records and released the album, PRAY, in 2013.
