Homeboy Sandman | Interview
Homeboy Sandman is an emcee and musician from Queens, NY. With an undergraduate degree from UPenn and three years into law school at Hofstra University, he withdrew to pursue a music career. Homeboy’s debut album, Nourishment (Second Helpings), was released in 2007. In 2008, his work was being featured on underground radio programs and hip hop magazines. After multiple studio releases, Homeboy garnered attention for his live performances hosted various hip hop showcases and open mic sessions, as well as performing at SXSW, Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival, Rock The Bells, A3C Hip Hop Festival, and CMJ Music Marathon. In 2010, Homeboy Sandman released The Good Sun, with production from 2 Hungry Bros, Ski Beatz, DJ Spinna, Psycho Les, and others. Homeboy has written many publications for media outlets including Huffington Post, and was even featured as the coach in an episode of MTV’s Made. In 2011, Homeboy Sandman signed with Stones Throw Records and released Subject: Matter EP, in 2012. His his second EP with Stones Throw was called Chimera, and his full length debut album on the label was released, First Of A Living Breed.
