Keith Murray | Interview
Keith Murray is an emcee and actor from Central Islip, NY. He learned to take care of himself at a young age, using music as his outlet. His rap career began under the name of MC Do Damage and he battled Big Daddy Kane before recording an album. K-Solo introduced Keith to Erick Sermon, and Keith was featured on the EPMD member’s 1993 album, No Pressure. Keith’s debut album, The Most Beautifullest Thing in This World, was released in 1994 and given 4 Mics by The Source. In 1996, Keith released his sophomore album, Enigma. In 1998, he teamed up with Erick Sermon and Redman to form Def Squad, and recorded the album El Niño, which included a cover to the famous Sugar Hill Gang song “Rapper’s Delight”. In 1999, Keith released his third album, It’s A Beautiful Thing, followed by He’s Keith Murray in 2003. His fifth solo album, Rap-Murr-Phobia, was released in 2007, followed by two independent album, Intellectual Violence and Puff Puff Pass, in 2008.
