Milano Constantine | Interview
Milano Constantine is an emcee from New York City. Growing up, his parents listened to jazz and latin music. His older brother introduced him to Rakim, Nas, Kool G Rap, and Raekwon. With reading as a hobby and an extraordinary talent as a writer, Milano started rhyming in cyphers in junior high school. He attended high school with the members of Smif-N-Wessun and Onyx. He was introduced to Showbiz of D.I.T.c. through a mutual friend and rhymed for him the first time they met. Showbiz was impressed and invited Milano to D&D studios for a cypher with a dozen other emcees including Big Punisher. As the cypher went on, Pun and Milano were the last two still rhyming back and forth. Big Pun was interested in recording a song together and “Where You At” was recorded two days later. Milano also recorded “Rep For The Slums” and “Hey Luv” with Cuban Linx on a D.I.T.C. project. After that, he was featured on The Beatnuts’ album Milk Me and started recording with many other artists. Milano’s first mixtape was called Classic Edition, followed by Spanish Harlem, Sidewalk Stories, Hurt Locker, and Alfa Romeo.
