Shyheim | Interview
Shyheim is an emcee from Staten Island, NY. He became affiliated with The Wu-Tang Clan and released his first single in 1993, “On & On”, while living with Ghostface Killah in the Stapleton Houses. Shyheim gained popularity for his debut album on Virgin Records, AKA The Rugged Child. In 1996, he released a follow-up album, The Lost Generation. He participated in a freestyle session at Madison Square Garden with The Notorious B.I.G, 2Pac, and Big Daddy Kane. He also landed an appearance on Big Daddy Kane’s song, “Show & Prove”, with Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Sauce Money, Big Scoob, and Jay-Z. Shyheim has appeared in films such as Original Gangstas, In Too Deep, and The Preacher’s Wife. After serving time in prison, Shyheim started Bottom Up Records in 2007 and has been releasing albums independently.
