Beeda Weeda | Interview
Beeda Weeda is an emcee and producer from Oakland, CA. At a young age, his cousin opened a studio where Beeda started making beats. Beeda’s older brother later inspired him to rap and team up with Lil Al. The two pressed copies of their street album and passed them around East Oakland. Since Beeda had a working relationship with J-Moe of the group Unda Survalance, J called when Tajai (Hieroglyphics) offered interest in a meeting. In 2006, Tajai arranged a distribution deal for Beeda’s debut album, Turfology 101. The first single, “Turf’s Up”, became a local hit and earned features on the remix version from Too Short and E-40. In 2012, Beeda began working and touring with Too Short. His most recent albums are Bass Rock Babies: The Leak and Mack’n, Trap’n, & Rap’n Vol. 2.
