Ed Lover | Interview

Ed Lover is an emcee, actor, musician, radio personality, and former MTV VJ from Queens, NY. In 1989, he was a member of the hip hop collective No Face, which recorded the song “Hump Music” as an explicit parody of The Jungle Brothers’ 1988 song “I’ll House You”. No Face released an album in 1990 called Wake Your Daughter Up. From 1988 until 1995, Ed hosted the first hip hop music show, Yo! MTV Raps, introducing many artists to later become some of the most influential artists in the world. Ed is also known for the phrase “C’mon, son!” and as co-host of The Morning Show with Ed, Lisa, and Dré on New York’s Hot 97 FM from 1993 to 1998. Ed and Dré released an album in 1994 called Back Up Off Me! Ed has been seen in television shows and movies since the early 90s, and currently hosts The Ed Lover Show on Sirius XM’s station Backspin.
