Everlast of House Of Pain | Interview

Everlast is an emcee, singer/songwriter, and musician from Los Angeles, CA. Being a member of Ice-T’s posse, Rhyme Syndicate, helped Everlast release his 1990 debut album, Forever Everlasting. Soon after, he formed House Of Pain with Danny Boy and DJ Lethal and recorded the hit song “Jump Around”, produced by DJ Muggs. Their self-titled debut album went platinum, and they followed up with the album Same As It Ever Was in 1994 and Truth Crushed To Earth Shall Rise Again in 1996. Everlast returned to his solo career and recorded Whitey Ford Sings The Blues in 1998, which went platinum and included the popular single “What It’s Like”. He was featured on Santana’s album, Supernatural, and won a Grammy for Best Rock Performance By A Duo or Group from the song “Put Your Lights On”. In 2000, Everlast released Eat At Whitey’s, which went gold, followed by White Trash Beautiful in 2004. In 2006, he joined DJ Lethal and Danny Boy again, to form the group La Coka Nostra, alongside ILL BILL, Slaine, Big Left, and DJ Eclipse. Everlast could not commit enough time for the group, so he continued on a solo path and released his fifth album, Love, War, & The Ghost of Whitey Ford, in 2008. In 2011, he released his sixth album, Songs Of The Ungrateful Living.
