Spice 1 | Interview
Spice 1 is an emcee from Hayward, CA. He began rapping at age 16, originally born in Texas, and was discoverd by Too Short. He was a member of the Original East Bay Gangstas with Too Short and E-40 and released his first solo project, Let It Be Known, in 1991. His official debut, self-titled album was released in 1992. Spice has collaborated with 2Pac, Method Man, MC Eiht, The Luniz, and was featured on the 1993 platinum Menace II Society Soundtrack. He released six albums on Jive Records, and three of them reached gold status. He is rated #56 in The Source Magazine’s Top 115 Hip Hop Artists from 1988–2003.
