Tyler Woods | Interview
Tyler Woods is a singer/songwriter and producer from Fayetteville, NC. Influenced by music at a young age, he participated in church choirs, studied piano, and formed his own group, Devoted. After high school, he studied audio engineering and music theory before pursuing his musical career. He released the single “Maybelline Lady” and a location radio station in North Carolina played it before it caught the attention of producer 9th Wonder. Tyler signed to Jamla Records in 2008. Tyler toured Europe with N-Trigue and released his debut album The R&B Sensation in 2009, produced by 9th Wonder. He has additionally collaborated with Talib Kweli, Buckshot, Lloyd, and The LOX. Tyler’s second album, The Mahogany Experiment, was released in 2011, produced by 9th Wonder and E. Jones. He later released two R&B holiday records; Christmas In The Woods (2009) and D-Block Records Presents: A Tyler Woods Christmas (2013). In 2013, Tyler appeared on the single “Faded” from The LOX’s latest project, Trinity EP.
