Vast Aire of Cannibal Ox | Interview

Vast Aire is an emcee and author from New York City. He became familiar with the underground hip hop scene by performing in clubs as a teenager, and later joined the rap group Atoms Family in the late 90s. Vast eventually met Vordul Mega to form the group Cannibal Ox and recorded an underground classic album in 2001, The Cold Vein, produced entirely by El-P from Def Jux. Since then, Vast Aire focused on a solo career, beginning with the 2004 album, Look, Mom… No Hands, followed by the 2005 album, The Best Damn Rap Show, produced by DJ Mighty Mi of The High & Mighty. Vast Aire has released several other projects and compilations, including the 2011 release of OX 2010: A Streey Odyssey, with features by Karniege, Cappadonna, Double A.B., Kenyattah Black, Raekwon, Guilty Simpson, and more.
